The bottom line The one here built for longevity: buy it if the machine will work hard for years, not if it will work twice a summer.
The Core 150-10 PowerControl is where Nilfisk’s domestic range starts borrowing from its professional one. 150 bar, 2 kW, a metal pump, ten metres of hose on an internal reel and a stated 40 °C inlet limit.
The pump is the machine
Everything else on a pressure washer can be replaced. Hoses, guns, lances and nozzles are consumables; the pump is the machine. A metal pump head handles heat and long runs better than a plastic one, and it survives the mistake that kills most machines — a little water left inside over a frost.
That does not make it immortal. Draining it before winter still matters, and running it dry still destroys seals in seconds. It means the machine tolerates being used properly for a decade rather than being used carefully for three years.
Storage as a design feature
An internal hose reel, a folding handle and a twin lance holder sound like conveniences and behave like durability features. A hose on a reel does not lie in grit; lances in a holder do not get trodden on; a folding handle means the machine fits where it belongs rather than in the way. The parts that fail on domestic pressure washers are almost always the parts that were left on the ground.
What this listing does not say
Nilfisk publishes a flow rate for the Core 140 and not for this model, which is an odd gap in an otherwise complete specification. We are not going to infer one from the wattage — the relationship is not fixed enough for that, and a plausible number on the page would read exactly like a measured one. If flow is your deciding criterion, the Core 140’s 465 l/h is the figure you can actually compare.
Against the machine below it
Ten bar, half a kilowatt, four extra metres of hose, a reel and a metal pump. The pressure is the least interesting item on that list. If the machine is going to run for an hour at a time, several times a month, this is the one that will still be running in ten years — and if it is not, the Core 140 is the more sensible purchase.

The pump head is where the pressure is made and where the heat goes. Plastic heads are lighter, cheaper and perfectly adequate for occasional use; they are also the part that distorts after long runs and cracks if water freezes inside them. A metal head tolerates both better, which is why it appears on trade machines and at the top of domestic ranges.
What is the 40 °C inlet limit about?
It is the hottest water you may feed the machine. People connect pressure washers to a hot tap to shift grease, and above the stated limit the seals and the pump suffer. If you need genuinely hot water, the machine to look for is one with its own heater — feeding a cold-water machine hot water is a way to destroy it quietly.
Is the hose reel a gimmick?
It is the reason the hose survives. Ten metres coiled on wet gravel picks up grit, kinks at the gun and gets driven over; on a reel it is wound, protected and quick to deploy, so it actually gets used at full length instead of being left half-coiled. Hoses are the most commonly replaced part of any pressure washer.
